Par or Better Golf ClubMeeting on Sept. 24, 2008 Minutes
Members Present: J. Pinkston, C. Smith, A. Lindsey, J. Cole, L. Netterville, C. Johnson, R. Kreitner
The meeting was called to order at 7:20 p.m. by President Pinkston. Treasurer's Report: Mr Netterville gave the report. The beginning balance was $7,291.38. He enumerated the expenses (mostly from the Junior Totnament and Club Championship) which totaled $3,238.02. Income for the period was $348.00. The ending balance came to $4,401.36. Mr. Cole made a motion to accept the report. Mr. Smith seconded. The motion passed. Two-Person Scramble: Mr. Kreitner gave the report representing himself and Mr. Tisdale. The event was planned and organized for October 4-5 at Grand Marais. Mr. Kreitner distributed menus and asked for input on food choices for both days. The preference was for hot dogs and chips on Saturday, fish and chicken buffet on Sunday. A motion was made and seconded to spend up $700.00 on the event. Motion passed.( A big thanks to member Chelsea Pate for helping with the arrangements, preparing the hot dogs, serving the food, and subtracting the gratuity charge!! I think we owe her, gentlemen!). Mr. Kreitner shared the format for play which included a change on the second day based upon performance on the first day. Much discussion ensued. A motion was made and seconded to accept the format. Motion passed. Club Christmas Party: Mr. Pinkston opened discussion on the topic by suggesting the club may want to look at ways to spend less than in previous years. Location, DJ, security, and food were all discussed. No motions were made. Topic continued to next meeting. Golf-a-thon: Mr. Netterville reported that receipts were down amd slow coming in. Members present reported some additional sources which would be contributing, but all agreed the income would likely be less than anticipated. The meeting was adjourned at 9:10 p.m.
